Promoting your products effectively is an important part of growing your shop on Temzli. To ensure fairness and transparency in the marketplace, all promotions and discounts must adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Truthful Pricing and Discounts #
- Limited-Time Offers When promoting a product as having a special, limited-time price (e.g., introductory price or sale), the price must genuinely increase after the promotion ends. Make sure to specify clear start and end dates in the product description, and ensure that the sale ends as advertised.
- No Perpetual Sales Products cannot be placed on indefinite or never-ending sales. Misleading customers into thinking a price is time-sensitive when it’s not will erode trust and is against our guidelines.
- Accurate Price Reductions If you advertise a discount (e.g., “was $50, now $25”), the original price must have been set at that higher price for a reasonable amount of time. Setting a falsely inflated original price to create a discount is not allowed.
2. Advertising Sales and Discounts #
- Social Media You are encouraged to promote your sales on social media platforms, but avoid excessive or spammy promotion. Make sure your messaging is clear, accurate, and provides a truthful representation of the promotion.
- Shop Updates You can use Temzli’s Shop Updates feature to promote your sales, but be mindful not to overwhelm your followers with constant updates. Spammy behavior or misuse of this feature (e.g., promoting non-Temzli products) may result in penalties, including shop suspension.
3. Transparency and Honesty in Promotions #
- Clear Communication Always provide accurate information about your promotions. Include specific details about the sale period, original prices, and the discount being offered. Transparency helps to build trust with your customers and maintain a positive reputation.
- Avoid False Scarcity Do not advertise a product as “limited-time” or “low stock” if there is no intention to actually limit availability. Misleading customers with false scarcity can damage trust and is against Temzli’s guidelines.
4. Compliance with Local Laws #
Ensure your promotions comply with applicable laws, including those regarding advertising and fair trade. This includes following regulations like the U.S. Fair Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, which require all promotions and sales to be truthful and non-deceptive, regardless of where you operate your shop.
5. Honest Product Reviews and Endorsements #
If you are offering discounts or incentives in exchange for reviews or endorsements, this must be disclosed to your audience. Encouraging or incentivizing fake reviews or misrepresenting endorsements is strictly prohibited and can result in shop suspension or closure.
6. Partner and Affiliate Promotions #
If you are working with affiliate partners or influencers to promote your products, make sure they also follow these promotion guidelines and disclose any sponsored partnerships or promotions in accordance with FTC rules or local regulations.
By adhering to these Promotion Guidelines, you can ensure that your marketing efforts are not only effective but also honest and transparent, creating a trustworthy experience for your customers on Temzli.
